Billionaire U.S. investor Warren Buffett has given Japan's battered stock market a boost, saying the rebuilding will take time, but it has not changed his view of the country's prospects.

美國億萬富翁投資家沃倫巴菲特，提振了重創的日本股市，他說重建需要時間，但這並未改變他對該國前景的看法。

[Warren Buffett, Investor]:

"It will take some time to rebuild. But it will not change the economic future of Japan. So if I owned Japanese stocks, I would certainly not be selling them because of the events of the last ten days or so."

投資家沃倫巴菲特說：

「這將需要一段時間才能重建。但它不會改變日本經濟的未來。所以如果我持有日本股票，我肯定不會因過去10天左右的事件，就賣掉它們。」

The Japanese stock market fell ten percent last week, as authorities battled a nuclear crisis that required yen intervention to stabilize the currency.

上週日本股市下跌10%，因為當局正與核能危機奮戰，需要干預日元以穩定貨幣。

Buffett adds the crisis creates a buying opportunity, not unlike previous situations he has seen before.

巴菲特補充說，危機創造了一個買進的機會，與他之前看過的情況相同。

"Frequently something out of the blue like this, an extraordinary event, really creates a buying opportunity. I've seen that happen in the United States, I've seen that happen around the world, and I don't think Japan will be an exception."

投資家沃倫巴菲特說：

「往往像這樣出乎意料的事，一件特別的事件，真的會創造一個買進機會。

我見過這種情況發生在美國和世界各地，我不認為日本將會是例外。」

Buffett was speaking at the launch of factory in South Korea that's owned by one of his funds.

巴菲特在他麾下持有的一支基金中，其所屬的韓國工廠破土動工儀式上，發表演說。

The billionaire investor heads to India Tuesday, to launch his firm's insurance selling portal.

這位億萬富翁投資家於週二前往印度，開展他公司的保險販售之門。

【英文說文解字】

各位讀者好：

這是一則財經新聞，但是談災難對金融股票市場的影響。

在財經新聞中，David老師將「促進」列為一組很重要的「結構字」，David老師歸納出至少有「三個B、三個S」。三個B是指back, boost, bolster，這裡出現的就是boost，boost可以作為動詞，也可以是名詞，本文中用的是名詞。Back這裡可不是副詞，而是當動詞，在後面支撐著，所以也是「支持、促進」的意思。

三個S，指的就是spur、support、stimulate, 美國職籃NBA裡有一支很優秀的隊伍就叫做聖安東尼奧馬刺隊（San Antonio Spurs），「馬刺」當名詞就是騎馬者穿帶在腳踝上用來要求馬匹快跑的環，當動詞就是用馬刺踢馬快跑的意思，用在財經新聞上就是「促進、刺激、作多」的意思。

英語新聞中提到「遠景、展望」，一般是用prospect, outlook這兩個字。Pro-是往前，-spect是眼睛看的意思，to look，展望就是「往前看」囉！

現在大家使用email，多半是用Outlook或是Outlook Express，為什麼呢？其實Window 95以前並不叫做Outlook，而是Schedule，就是用來計劃時間、行程的，Window 97以後才改為Outlook，就是讓user展望其未來的意思。
