“My Dad is the Law!”

After killing a pedestrian in Hebei University,

the drunk-driving “officialling " Li Qiming shouted:

"My dad is Li Gang!" This has shocked the word.

Recently, in Yonghe County, Shanxi Province,

a more outrageous case took place.

The murderous officialling shouted:

"My dad is the county major. My dad is the law!”

The officiallings』 outrageousness infuriated netizens.

After the Hebei University car accident, Li Qiming』s

"My dad is Li Gang" became an online key word.

Yonghe County officialling』s "My dad is the Law!”

can even make Li Qiming acknowledge his inferiority.

Recently, there is an online post about the stabbing

of a man by four family members of

Yonghe County Deputy Mayor Feng Shuanggui.

As per the post, recently, Feng Shuanggui』s

mother-in-law was killed in a car accident.

Afterwards, a man called Liu Wen set off firecrackers

in accordance with local customs to dispel the evil.

This has displeased Feng Shuanggui』s family.

On the 2nd night after the funeral of the deceased,

Feng』s wife Kang Yan, son Feng Yuan,

brother-in-law Kang Long and sister-in-law Kang Li

broke into Liu Wen』s home and stabbed him.

Liu』s furniture was broken in a bloody scene.

When beating the victim, Feng Yuan kept on saying:

"My dad is the county mayor. My dad is the Law!

We will come back tomorrow again to beat you.

Let』s see what you can do.”

The four strode out after the stabbing.

The seriously wounded Liu was rushed to Linfen City.

Due to excessive bleeding, he was in a coma.

As per the post, the local police wouldn』t file the case.

The victim's wife and son had to kneel before

the principal officials of Yonghe County.

Then the police reluctantly began the investigation.

Feng Yuan's outrageous "My father is the law!”

sparked discussions among netizens.

Some said: "Li Gang" is back!

Some predict: "My father is the law!” will be trendy!

Some asked: can a deputy mayor』s son be so lawless?

How can we common people live?

Netizens asked: how can officiallings be so lawless?

In NTD』s 2010 discussion on communist officiallings,

Current issues commentator Dr. Jason pointed out,

the “officialling” problem is a common phenomenon

in the Chinese society.

Dr. Jason: The officiallings grow up

as the Chinese society is being stratified.

They see that with power and money,

they parents can do things as they wish in China.

This is the everyday reality they see when growing up.

Jason said, the insolent way of life of officiallings,

coupled with the situation in China that

"power and money can solve everything",

contributed to the incidents involving officiallings.

Dr. Jason: For so many years, the communist party

(CCP) has been nurturing such a privileged class.

Why is it the case? The CCP has discovered that

it must maintain a loyal low-level cadre system.

So, CCP pays a lot of attention to its low-level officials.

Dr. Jason said CCP』s independent judicial system

also maintains the privileged class.
